About

About Our School

Simple explanation, we teach Taekwondo.More formally, Grand Master Yi's Taekwondo School is a martial arts school located in the heart of South Kitsap County, Port Orchard, Washington. We offer a variety of Taekwondo classes for students of all ages and skill levels. Our classes are taught by experienced instructors who are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals.

Why Taekwondo?

Compared to other popular forms of martial arts, Taekwondo is relatively new. Taekwondo is less than 100 years old and was born in Korea following the second World War. After regaining its independence, Korea was hungry to re-ignite its culture. In 1965, many Koreans from across different regions of Korea combined their efforts into what is now the modern martial arts discipline known as Taekwondo.Taekwondo is focused on the coordinated use of the feet and hands, with influences of Taekyon, Subak, and Shotokan Karate. Modern students will discover that Taekwondo lessons with Grand Master Yi are dynamic, applicable to “street scenarios”, and challenging.
